Parking in the lay-by at the foot of the Hardknott Pass on the Eskdale side (see map below).

Reminder that runners should bring appropriate kit as recommended by the Fell Runners Association: appropriate footwear, waterproof whole body cover (with taped seams and integrated attached hood), hat, gloves and a whistle.
